A cryogenic treatment is the process of treating workpieces to cryogenic temperatures (i.e. below -190 °C (-310 °F)) in order to remove residual stresses and improve wear resistance on steels. In addition to seeking enhanced stress relief and stabilization, or wear resistance, cryogenic treatment is also sought for its ability to improve corrosion resistance by precipitating micro-fine eta carbides, which can be measured before and after in a part using a quantimet. The process has a wide range of applications from industrial tooling to the improvement of musical signal transmission. Some of the benefits of cryogenic treatment include longer part life, less failure due to cracking, improved thermal properties, better electrical properties including less electrical resistance, reduced coefficient of friction, less creep and walk, improved flatness, and easier machining.

Warranty:
RPM Transmissions warrants that each transmission or differential manufactured or sold by RPM Transmissions will be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for a period of 90 days after delivery of the transmission. RPM Transmissions' sole obligation under this warranty shall be to repair or replace, at its option, the defective transmission or differential at no charge to the customer. Under no circumstance will RPM Transmissions be liable for any oil, towing, labor or rental vehicle charges. This may seem extreme, but it is an industry standard due to the many configurations of these transmissions, turbo kits, headers, etc.
As a condition of this warranty the customer must return any allegedly defective product, freight prepaid to RPM Transmissions, accompanied by a packing slip indicating the shipper and a copy of the original invoice. This warranty does not apply to unsatisfactory product performance which is attributed in whole or in part, to any factor, condition or circumstance other than defects in material or workmanship. Without limiting the foregoing, this warranty shall be null and void if repair or replacement is required because of improper installation, accident, physical or electrical stress, neglect, misuse or any other cause other than the ordinary and intended use for which the product was designed, or if the product has been dismantled, altered or repaired by the customer or by any third party. This warranty expressly does not cover loss or injury from the use of the product. By accepting and/or installing product, you are agreeing to the terms of the warrranty.
Parts are covered by the manufacturers warranty.
Shipping is based on zones. If you have a question of what zone you are in, just give us a call, or drop us an email with your zip code. This cost includes the shipping to you and the shipping of the core coming back to us. This is to a business address or to a terminal using Fedex Freight or a few other carriers. Any additional charges such as limited access, residential delivery, liftgate, etc. will be the buyer's responsibility.

Attn: Please Do Not Ship your transmission in a plastic tote
Here at RPM we do not suggest that you ship your heavy parts in a plastic tote nearly half of the products that are shipped with this method get damaged in shipping. Due to the weight and size of a transmission and the handling procedures used by FedEx and UPS are not acceptable and result in damaged goods. When you are sending us your parts for repair or returning a product to us for repair please contact us and we can email or fax the paper work for shipping and inform you of the proper way to ship them. We prefer them to be on a wooden pallet banded or strapped tight with ratchet straps.
