ACS Camaro SS SS9 Hood with Carbon Insert 2010-2013

Already producing some of the most popular Camaro hoods on the market, Advance Composite Specialties is proud to offer Camaro enthusiasts the ultimate in personalization. The SS9 hood, manufactured in ACSs validated RTM process hood features a DOMED cowl higher than stock or HIGH RISE version and available with a choice of 3 interchangeable hood inserts that can change the look and function of your hood in minutes.

Version one is the polycarbonate WINDOW insert lets you show off your Lingenfelter aluminum engine covers or better yet showcase your supercharger. Version two is the heat extractor insert that will evacuate heat from the engine compartment to improve performance. Third version is the carbon insert that will instantly offer a two tone scheme, yet letting people know there is something special underneath.

ACS Camaro SS hood inserts can be stored in your trunk and are all interchangeable on the SS9 hood; installation can be done ALONE and in MINUTES.

RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) technology creates a part of OEM quality. Fiberglass is injected into a mold and then compressed under high pressure. This manufacturing method creates a panel that is smooth on both sides with a consistent thickness across the entire surface. The controlled fiberglass/resin composition of RTM, reduces cure times and eliminates the possibility of "wet" parts being removed from the mold prematurely. All of which is impossible with the standard hand laying process. Panels are then trimmed using a CNC robotic water jet for a clean, smooth cut on every part. The result is better fitting panel, reducing body shop installation and fitment times.
