Upgrade your 2006-2013 Z06 Corvette with our 2-piece brake rotors. Read this before purchasing the rotors and making your choice of brake pads.
* Side: L/R * Position: REAR * Size: 340x26mm (13.4" x 1") * (Minimum order: 2 Rotors) * Saves approx. 1.5 lbs from stock rotor weight.
Rotor Material: Racing Formula Alloyed Gray Iron & Heat treated Surface: EDP Coating w/cross cut grinding on friction surface
NOTE: Our two-piece rear rotor hats for models with drum brakes are made of cast iron which retains the stock e-brake system.
The Corvette Z06 2006 rotors were engineered to be the best stock replacement two-piece rotor on the performance market. This rotor is direct bolt-on, easy to install, no additional hardware needed, and an excellent upgrade for both street and track. Not only will the rotors last 3 times or more longer than competitions' two-piece rotors, they can deliver consistent brake torque under extreme heat, session after session. When it comes to replacement - operating cost over the time will be lower than one-piece rotor.
Installation note:
|
Trim the back plate edge approximately 2-3mm (0.1") to avoid interference with the rotor. |
|
When installing new rotors you may notice the interference with the pin bolts (outboard side) are in contact with the rotor surface causing some grinding noise and grooving marks on the rotors. (while inboard side has about 2mm space) This was caused by the misalignment of OE calipers relative to the rotors. We have found out by shimming 1.0mm washer (between the caliper mounting tab and spindle) will satisfactorily make the caliper align with rotors and eliminate this interference issue. You may not notice this interference (caliper and rotor mis-alignment) especially after the rotor and pin bolt worn down, however we highly recommend to have this alignment corrected the sooner the better to assure optimal performance (no matter it's OE or aftermarket rotor new or used). |
Material:
- Alloyed iron formula adds strength and heat resistance. Heat treating further improves rotor performance for a more uniform and stabilized microstructure.
Design:
- The cooling vanes are of a convergent nozzle design, which increases airflow and turbulence and makes discs cooler. (Illustration #1)
- The center-mount flanges for hat mounting to the rotor ring have several benefits. (Illustration #2)
- It allows the ring to be used on either side of the vehicle simply by mounting the hat on either side of the ring (unidirectional).
- The stress load transferred from the ring to the hat is balanced.
- Air inlets are widely open to both inboard and outboard sides of the rotor. More air suctions and even temperature on both sides of the disc surface.
- Heat transfer from the disc surfaces to the hat is even and minimized by increasing the flange length and the airflow around the flanges.
- Mounting flanges are on both friction surfaces ultimately provides excellent heat balance.
- Exclusive full floating design with 10.9 grade alloyed hardware. Hardware is DACRO coated and crimp locking. DACRO is highly corrosion resistant and provides a film for easier movement between the hat and rotor ring as disc expands and contracts and the crimp design provides positive engagement without rattling or torque loss at temperature.
