Let's Talk Quality Fidanza Flywheels are made using the highest quality and most modern materials available. The flywheel itself is made from either 6061 T6 or 2024 T3 aluminum depending on the model. Both of these materials are tempered aluminum which are very, very strong yet very lightweight. The friction surface is very special. We use a 1050 high carbon, alloy steel. This alloy is perfect for this use. It is incredibly durable allowing the use of just about any clutch disc material available from organic to Kevlar and even sintered iron. We attach the friction surface using aerospace nuts and bolts or 304 stainless steel rivets depending on the application. These are some of the best fasteners money can buy. We chose them because of their incredible shear strength and resistance to corrosion. All of our ring gears are heat treated for durability. They are heated, pressed on and then secured using grade 10 fasteners. You will not find better materials but keep reading because our machining and design process will knock your socks off. Most companies design their flywheels so that they can be machined quickly and with the least amount of effort. Fidanza Flywheels are machined and designed to be the very best flywheel on the market. All of our flywheels are CNC machined. This process gives them the most accurate dimensions and the best possible finish. We use the very latest techniques to ensure that our flywheels are innovative and functional. Our friction surface is laser cut with the fastener holes and chamfers CNC machined. The pattern for the fasteners is a computer design that keeps the friction surface from warping. We don't just use more fasteners because we can, we use them because they are needed.
