Corvette Z06 Pace Car Leads the Pack at NASCAR’s Allstate 400

Yesterday was the running of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. As in the past, the Corvette Z06 was chosen as the Pace Car and we got to say that the graphics package consisting of red and charcoal work very well. The Festival Corvettes, which are the silver Convertibles, were also on hand for the weekend and are used for ferrying drivers and track officials and VIPs to various events during the week leading up the race. That’s the questions being posed by UK-based Autocar in this video showing a 2009 Cyber Gray Corvette ZR1 going flat out through the English countryside in pursuit of the unknown chase car. With the narrow twisty roads, the ZR1 gives the thought of a pass now and again, but always backs off, but not before unleashing the 638 horses for a few seconds. PK Carsport Corvette C6.R Wins the 24 Hours of Spa

It was a battle between Corvette and Maserati for what could be the final run of GT1 race cars at the 24 Hours of Spa. In the end, it was the PK Carsport C6.R driven by Mike Hezemans, Anthony Kumpen, Jos Menten and Kurt Mollekens that finish a comforable 11 laps ahead of the Vitaphone Racing Team (DHL) Maserati MC12. Corvette Plant Gets New Schedule
Corvette’s Bowling Green Assembly Plant recently announced a new schedule of production hours, effective July 20th. Instead of a normal 8-hour, 5 days per week, operation hours will be reduced to 10-hour days, 4 days per week.
The nearly 500 workers now employed will be expected to work Monday through Thursday from 6:12am until 4:42pm. There is no word of how long this new schedule will endure.
To further control production numbers of Corvettes, the plant is also scheduled to close August 3rd, August 10th, and August 17th.
